Rainy day fun.

It only took me a year , but I finally got my sunporch cleaned!

Now Alex has another room to play in!
(thats if your not counting my living room or dining room or my bedroom)

Being a rainy day today, and already bored with all of Xander's toys,
I decided to take advantage of our new found play space with a new toy!

A Sand Box!

To be honest its a tub full of Cream o' Wheat,
so unlike sand if he decides to eat it, no harm done.

He really seemd to enjoy the texture of it
and of course anything with a big spoon is a good thing.

Of course in my excitement over Xander's new toy,
I completely forgot about the joy of cleaning sand out of carpet....

I Guess this is now an outside toy now.

Not for the Squeemish

Seriously if you are sensitive to gore turn away now....

Ok so for those of you still left here's the story...

Last Saturday I was all excited to dress Xander up in his gayest outfit and head to the mall for a photo with the Easter Bunny.
(secretly hoping for a freakout photo with lots of tears
I'm cruel i know)

Instead of heading to the mall I headed to the Emergency Room..
(well 2 to be correct but that's not the point)
not for me,

not for Xander,

Nope I got to take Chris!

Yep! He decided it would be fun to drill into his HAND!!!!!

Calm Down! He's ok it was just a flesh wound....
(his words not mine)

Thankfully it was only a 1/4" bit and it went into the fleshy part of his palm, and missed anything really important like nerves, ligaments, bone, or the other side of his hand.

I have to admit at the beginning it didn't look as bad....

Then she started to clean out the dirt, metal, and dead tissue......

So of course once it was clean it started to bleed again
Yummy huh!

A week later he is well, it hurts less everyday, and they say he will live.
So now he will have a new war story to bore the kid with...

Speaking of the kid.....

I never did get that Easter photo, but I tried......

I don't think he is really enthused about this bunny either.

I promise I did try to comb his hair.

Outside

They say its spring, but with all this snow, I don't believe 'em.

Thankfully, the snow did melt away, and we were able to go out!

OOPS!
Someone left the gate open!
Xander's favorite toy by far is his walker....inside or out.

but "out" means he gets to go farther!

Whats nice about spring is the chance to finally get out and explore.
And by explore I mean inside the fence of our back yard.

Xander thinks it means to explore one stick at a time.

I think he thinks the stick is a dirty straw.
(straws being his second favorite toy)

Alex is also getting more and more confident with his walking skills everyday.

I can't quiet tell if he's drunk or part Frankenstein...
but I still get a lot of joy out of watching him go farther and longer
I'm such mom geek
