Non Conventional

As discussed in older posts Alex loves the 'non toy' toys
I think lots of toddlers do
Lately he's been a little more preoccupied with some, more than others.

Case in point : The Big Plastic Bin

To some this is a big plastic bin than screws come in,
To Fred it was where we kept his food,
Now a days Mama uses it to store her 'gladware'

To Xander its a purse......

Or a.....

Hat!!!!

However, sometimes it is just a bin,
a bin to hold his second favorite toy............

A Plunger!!!!

or is it a ..........

A Teether!
How else are you gonna reach those molars?

pps - yes this had been thoroughly disinfected
thrice!

Window Shopping

I had gone to the local hardware store to get some lightbulbs,
exciting huh,

Well Xander was thrilled once we found the indoor play yard!
more likely the end of summer clearance sale

Here he is trying out the "Adventure Island" slide!

And now he's trying the "Pirate Ship" slide...

better than walking the plank I guess

Slides are fun but so are forts!
This brings a new meaning to window shopping...
I think if he knew what Christmas was,
this would be on the list!

But then again who needs forts and slides,
when you can just explore the stacks!

who says shopping is boring!

Hidin'

Xander loves to play to "Hide and Seek"
But he pretty much only has four places to hide:

Behind the stove,
Behind the door,
In his Cave,
Under his Crib.

Well those places were so "18 months"

Now that he's a big ol 19 months he's stepped up his game :

PEEK A BOO!

I think his cuteness often distracts me from the messes he creates....

Pop Quiz

Uhm.....
Anyone wanna tell me whats wrong with this scenario?

Mt Everest

Wow Xander!
I knew you were getting big!
But to be taller than a lamp is huge!

Wait a minute!
Why are you posing next to a lamp?

How'd you even get up there?

Crap....
You know what this means....

CLIMBING!

Yep now that we've mastered walking, we need a new challenge!

something about using steps makes it cheating

One can only imagine the feat it took to get ON TOP of my table.
the Mt Everest type of feat

Ok Xander, enough is enough

now your just scarring your mom.

Hero?

QUICK!

TO THE BAT CAVE!!!

We have some criminals to catch!

OK, so maybe we are a bit young to be catching the criminals,
but not to young to start our training.....

Its very important in crime fighting to be sneaky....

Gotcha!

As we all know lots of crimes these days are done through the internet,
so its important to get those 'puter skills early....

I wanted to talk about how being a super hero is about toughness.....

but I think we can wait awhile on that.

Butterflies etc

One great thing about living in the Twin Cities are our two zoos!

You've seen our adventures to the Minnesota Zoo,
Today you will see our adventure to the Como Zoo!

When we went it was Butterfly Season!

I think the boys were more interested in watching Mom taking pics
than looking at the butterflies...

I took way to many photos,
but will only bore you with one of my favs

After the butterflies we went and checked on some distant relatives....

bad joke I know

Xander's favorite animals of the day were the penguins,

and the little tank of fish

All in all it was a really good family day.

It might have been a bit too much fun.....
