Last Week

This is Alex's last week as a BABY!
Tomorrow he turns one and will be a TODDLER!

So how did he spend his last week?

On Sunday we took him to get some professional photos done!

I kinda felt sorry for the photo girl as Xander had no desire to smile for her, and was far more interested in playing with the lobby toys, but we did manage to get some good photos in, and I can't wait to share them with y'all!

We then followed up the photos by trying to save some money and giving Xander his first hair cut......
As you can tell he was not enthused about this, and although this side doesn't look to bad the other side was much worse and I am afraid to say but my little guy now has a Mullet.
I don't know what I was thinking, but until he learns how to hold a bowl on his head, I don't think I will be trying to cut his hair again for a really long time.

Mondays are our ECFE classes! That's a time for us to go and hang out with some other babies and play, sing songs and chat!
Here is Alex in a tub full of balls with Redford!

Tuesday was not a fun day for Xander at all....
He had to go to the Dr for his well visit.
On a good note he passed with flying colors and was pronounced a healthy child!
For those who like to heare numbers here goes:
Hieght: 30 3/4 inches
Weight: 21.2 lbs
i.e, perfectly normal and average - just what we like to hear!
On a sad not he did have to get two shots and some blood draw from his finger
(I think she took way more than she needed to..
probably so she could clone him)

Weds was not a good day for his mom, as it was his first day at Day Care.
It probably could have been better except that because of his shots the day before he woke up at 4am with 101 degree temperature. We got him cooled down and with some tylenol he was good to go and so we went!
But...... The day care informed me that the policy is no fevers with in 24 hours..UGH! They were understanding that this was just a "vaccine fever" but said he could only stay a couple of hours. Double UGH. Long story short I break down crying in my car and Chris leaves work at lunch to
Alex home.

Thankfully Thursday was pretty mellow, as he was still getting over his shots, and pretty much haung with Gamma Darci all day .

I am looking forward to tomorrow and for whats to come, but I am still amazed at how far we have come in such a short time.

Yay for no longer being an baby!

Group Partay

This past Saturday was the...
1st Annual Reunion of the 1st Amma Mammas.

It was the first time since class ended that we actually got all the mammas and all the babies in one room! We even let some of the daddies come! It was really great to see some of the moms I haven't seen in while. I am still in awe on how much all of the babies have grown and changed, yet are still the same little guys and gals I met almost a year ago! Some of the personality traits we saw way back then are still there and its just so much fun watching them all try play together!

I have definitely confirmed that Alex is going to be the shy kid. He was doing ok when it was just him and the twins, but once it started getting all crowded I kept finding him in the hallway playing by himself, or in the corner, or trying to climb my leg to get to safety. I am very proud of him though for being so brave.

This was the calm before the storm...

I think Alex is in this photo somewhere......
running away probably

We tried so hard to get the babies in one group photo- but to no avail.
I will have you note that Alex kept up the tradition of being the last baby to escape or cry.

"This is my cupcake! grrrrr!"

Determined

Believe it or not but this went on for about another five minutes.

oops

Mommy really needs to learn to close doors and lids......

She also needs to learn to put her things away....

Xander has learned how to be sneaky and then act cute when caught.

Highlights

Xander celebrated his first Christmas a couple of weeks ago!

It was a really good Christmas this year.
Gamma Q drove up and was able to spend a whole week.
And I got to spend the holiday for the first time as Momma Q!

I have to admit I wish Alex would have been a little bit more into it.

I know he doesn't understand that whole "Fat Man down a chimney with toys" concept, but I guess I was hoping for a bit more excitement about unwrapping presents. At one point we were actually chasing him with a half ripped box hoping to get that squeal of joy as he decimated that wrapping.

Oh well.

Maybe for his birthday.

So even if he wasn't interested he sure did get a lot...

Yep, that would the first of what I am sure are many Super Hero Dolls.
er I mean Action Figures

And just like daddy, Xander now has his own cell phone!
Hopefully he won't learn to call China.

The great thing about his new toy box is how it doubles as a baby gate!

...of course I don't think he likes being "one of the gang"

UP

One day Mommy accidentally left the gate open...

So Xander thought it would be good to take a trip!

And up UP UP He Went!

Of course then he had to rest.
