Sick - Part 2

Well, its official.

Chris has FINALLY caught the family cold.

Xander has gotten better himself, and is showing the signs of more teeth about to come in, so I am suspecting a couple more bottom teeth to start sprouting up in about three weeks !
my little boy is growing up so fast!
sniff sniff

And thankfully my cold is also finally gone.

Speaking of leaving.....

My Gall Bladder will be leaving me on the 6th!

Yep, that's official too.

Apparently all of the pain and sickness and liver issues that I had a couple of weeks ago has finally been diagnosed as Gall Stones. And since I have had two other smaller "attacks" since then, and because my liver functions are still slightly out of whack, the doctors have decided that it has got to go.

I was hoping to show you guys the ultrasound I had done showing my stones, but the lady had absolutely no sense of humor and refused to print it for me!
I mean I even offered her a five dollar CASH bribe!
"We only print picture of babies!"
well EXCUUUUSE me!
It feels a heck of a lot worse than delivering a baby let me tell you!
Labor pains come and go, and at the end you get a Xander!
This is six hours of constant unrelenting pain and no Xander Jr!
There is no epidural for Gall Stones!
"We only print pictures of babies" - BITE ME.

Oops I guess I got a little carried away.

Anyways my surgery is set for October 6th.
And I will be coming home on October 6th.
Its done with small incisions and these tiny little cameras.
If you google 'Gall bladder removal' you can find videos of it
a little gross - but kinda cool
maybe

My surgeon seems like a pretty cool dude with good street cred.
He's the old guy who's seen it all and has a decent sense of humor.
His nurse rocks - and we all know how important they are!

Am I nervous? Yes.
Am I glad we finally know whats wrong? Yes.
I mean it could have been a lot worse and even though it needs surgery to fix it at least its out-patient so I know I will heal faster and miss less work. And since it doesn't need to happen right away, I have a couple of weeks to prepare and get ready for it.

or get really scared.

play DATE

Wednesdays are supposed to be my day off.
But unfortunately last week I had a huge deadline and had to work.

Thankfully my friend Ginny was able to come up for a couple of hours.

Which is great because it meant Alex and Liberty got to play!

However I think things might have gone a little too far....

(this shows Liberty starting it)

HEY THERE!
SLOW DOWN!

Look at them trying to look all innocent!

Note to self: Have Chris do "The Talk" early
way early
maybe next week early.

Sick

S
is for Snot
- as in the buckets that poured out of Xander's nose

I is for Icky - as in the buckets the poured out of Xander's nose

C is for Crunchy
- as in what the snot has turned into today

K is for.... Ok so I don't have one for K. but I think you get the point.....

Alex has his first Cold!

Yep, we are finally reaching the end of his first runny nose cold.
Other than needing to be having to be held all night he did very well.

Good news is that Alex has already learned to share!
Both Darci and I are sick and I think Chris is starting to get it too!

All of this cold stuff would have been fine on its own,
but just as Xander was starting to get sick last Thursday, so was I .
But not in the simple cold way.
Nope, I had lots of pain on my right side with lots of nasua and none of my fluids were the color they were supposed to be. So Friday I finally gave up in its going away on its own, and went to the clinic.

Lots of waiting
and lots of blood tests
and then more waiting followed by some poking
I was told that my liver is sick and that I might have Hepatitis.

UGH

I honestly can't say what I was more scared about...
Me, or the possibility of infecting Alex, or the rest of my family.

Thankfully after a really long weekend of panicking and waiting for more results,
I finally got the call saying no to hepatitis!

What I have they don't know, and we probably never will.

Moral of the story.......
Bring on the snot.
it may be gross, but its not as scary.

Spoon

Along with all of the playing we did over Labor Day weekend
Alex started to develop a new skill!

Well to be honest, it might be to soon to call it a skill...

That my friends, is Xander's attempt to hold hold a spoon

and this is the result.

(please note that he is holding it backwards along with the bowl and refuses to let go)

Wagon

This past weekend was an exciting one for our Mr. Xander!

Not only did Gamma Q drive up for the weekend,
but Alex is now 7 months old!

In celebration of this occasion we tried out the WAGON!

Not sure he really knew what he was doing but he did like banging his ring on the metal sides!
