Sick - Part 2

Well, its official.

Chris has FINALLY caught the family cold.

Xander has gotten better himself, and is showing the signs of more teeth about to come in, so I am suspecting a couple more bottom teeth to start sprouting up in about three weeks !
my little boy is growing up so fast!
sniff sniff

And thankfully my cold is also finally gone.

Speaking of leaving.....

My Gall Bladder will be leaving me on the 6th!

Yep, that's official too.

Apparently all of the pain and sickness and liver issues that I had a couple of weeks ago has finally been diagnosed as Gall Stones. And since I have had two other smaller "attacks" since then, and because my liver functions are still slightly out of whack, the doctors have decided that it has got to go.

I was hoping to show you guys the ultrasound I had done showing my stones, but the lady had absolutely no sense of humor and refused to print it for me!
I mean I even offered her a five dollar CASH bribe!
"We only print picture of babies!"
well EXCUUUUSE me!
It feels a heck of a lot worse than delivering a baby let me tell you!
Labor pains come and go, and at the end you get a Xander!
This is six hours of constant unrelenting pain and no Xander Jr!
There is no epidural for Gall Stones!
"We only print pictures of babies" - BITE ME.

Oops I guess I got a little carried away.

Anyways my surgery is set for October 6th.
And I will be coming home on October 6th.
Its done with small incisions and these tiny little cameras.
If you google 'Gall bladder removal' you can find videos of it
a little gross - but kinda cool
maybe

My surgeon seems like a pretty cool dude with good street cred.
He's the old guy who's seen it all and has a decent sense of humor.
His nurse rocks - and we all know how important they are!

Am I nervous? Yes.
Am I glad we finally know whats wrong? Yes.
I mean it could have been a lot worse and even though it needs surgery to fix it at least its out-patient so I know I will heal faster and miss less work. And since it doesn't need to happen right away, I have a couple of weeks to prepare and get ready for it.

or get really scared.

  1. Boooooooo!!!

Sorry to hear that your gall bladder has gone rogue. That sucks. But for what it's worth, my mom had the same thing happen. Attacks of pain in the midsection. Pain that she described as the worst pain she's ever felt. Even worse than dislocating her shoulder and giving birth to two kids. (Not at the same time.)

She changed her diet and has managed to not have surgery for over a year. (The diet change made the painful attacks stop.) So since you have some time to wait until your surgery, if you haven't already been advised about what you should or shouldn't eat, you should ask internet about it. You could make the time you have to wait more pleasant.

    Best wishes.
